Beautiful classic sailboat JOHN ALDEN CHALLENGER 38 YAWL
My name is MERIDIAN OF GREENWHICH, after 44 years of careful maintenance and love from my owner (English like me) and her family, it is now time to find a new captain (or captains!) who will care for me with the same attention.
I measure 11.73 meters long and 3.35 meters wide, my draught ranges from 1.30 to 2.43 meters thanks to my bronze keel, my hull made of reinforced fiberglass (early stage of this technology) built by Halmatic Limited and finished in England by the shipyard Field and Loughborough Aircraft Ltd.
My yawl rig with a tabernacle mast was replaced in 2021, my sails (main sail on furler, genoa also on furler, storm jib, and mizzen sail) are in excellent condition (revision done), my traditional boom is varnished wood.
My mast has a white cover, it is equipped with a Garmin anemometer from 2021 (Gwind GMI 20 wind vane), a radar completes my equipment.
The electrical circuit was completely redone in 2022 (new distribution panel…).
A comfortable forward cabin and a spacious convertible saloon in mahogany will accommodate 6 people.
I have a fully equipped kitchen (gas stove and oven), a bathroom with toilet, and plenty of storage spaces.
My engine, about twenty years old (Nanni 42), runs smoothly and has been regularly maintained; the new gearbox was replaced in 2022. However, it will require a review before launching.
A rubber dinghy will also be included.
