Built in 1950 in Bremen by the legendary German designer Henry Gruber, GILLA is an exceptional sailing yacht embodying the elegance and quality of classics. Its traditional hull, crafted from teak and accented with mahogany sides, showcases remarkable artisan craftsmanship.

During the 1970s, GILLA crossed the Atlantic several times before settling in Newport, Rhode Island, where she sailed until 2000. She stood out at the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, achieving great success on two occasions. Purchased in 2000 by her current owner, she was then brought back to Italy for a complete restoration in 2003 at the Fano shipyards, where she was carefully replanked.

Since then, this vintage yacht has sailed the Adriatic Sea, actively participating in the AIVE rallies and demonstrating remarkable upwind performance. In 2024, she will be at the heart of the “Vele Storiche Viareggio” and “Argentario Sailing Week” events, before returning to her home port at Marina dei Cesari, Fano, in autumn.

Recently, in April 2024, her masts and boom were fully restored, returning GILLA to her former glory. This vintage sailing gem is equipped with a GPS chartplotter for navigation, a teak side deck on the deck, and a hot water boiler inside for optimal comfort.

The rig, fully overhauled in 2024, includes a mainsail with reef points and two reefs, a mizzen mainsail, a reefed jib, a piston genoa, and a gennaker with sock, accompanied by five additional sails and a lazy jack system. The cockpit is fitted with two Barient self-tailing winches, a compass with cover, and a steering station with a tiller seat, ensuring easy and precise handling.

Among other equipment, GILLA features summer covers for protection against rain and sun, a complete three-part winter cover, as well as a mahogany ladder and gangway, combining practicality and aesthetics.
