Excellent condition – Recent significant refit – Sails 2026 – Retractable bow thruster

Price: €309,000 including VAT

Dufour 512 Grand Large from 2017 in a 5 cabin version, perfectly adapted for family cruising and extended stays aboard thanks to its spaciousness, large cockpit, and considerable sleeping capacity.

Acquired by its current owners about 2.5 years ago, this boat has since undergone a significant upgrade program, preventive maintenance, and improvements.

It is now presented in an excellent overall condition, both aesthetic and technical, with many costly upgrades recently addressed.

SAILS & RIGGING

New sails 2026 SO Sails:

  • Main sail on roller of 52 m², high-density Dacron.
  • Genoa on roller of 48 m², tri-radial cut in laminated polyester double taffeta DCX-H, especially suitable for fast cruising.

RECENT EXTERIOR EQUIPMENT

  • New Bimini 2025
  • New heel cover 2025
  • Protection covers for the helm station, outdoor table, and engine panel
  • Larger bathing platform
  • Dual helm stations
  • Replaced/renewed windlass and chain
  • Retractable bow thruster recently replaced

A particularly important intervention was carried out on the bow thruster in late 2024.

MECHANICAL & MAINTENANCE

The engine has approximately 1,800 hours and has benefited from a major recent overhaul, including:

  • Engine and shaft revision;
  • Starter replacement;
  • Alternator overhaul;
  • Complete cleaning of the fuel tank;
  • Replacement of valves and through-hulls;
  • Numerous preventive works on technical circuits.

Waterline painting, polishing, and antifouling done in early 2026.

ELECTRICAL & AUTONOMY

The electrical system has also been significantly upgraded:

  • 4 recent 140 Ah service batteries
  • Engine battery
  • 2000 W inverter
  • Solar panels
  • Coupling between the service and engine battery banks
  • Improved various electrical circuits
  • USB/12V outlets
  • 220V power supply
  • Battery charger

The boat thus has good energy autonomy at anchor, without routinely needing a generator.

Recent electrical interventions also covered the bow thruster, windlass, and various onboard equipment.

ELECTRONICS

Electronics have also been recently overhauled and upgraded, notably:

  • Raymarine/Axiom electronics
  • NMEA bridge
  • Windvane replacement
  • Two display repairs
  • Remote through-hull replacement

INTERIOR & COMFORT

Configuration of 5 cabins, offering remarkable livability for a 51-foot sailing yacht.

The interior is in a good overall condition. Only some light signs of wear are visible on certain furniture edges.

Various elements have also been recently refurbished:

  • Interior repainting;
  • Toilet interventions;
  • Faucetry and showers;
  • Diverse hardware and joinery elements.

HULL & PRESENTATION

The boat has undergone numerous recent aesthetic and preventive works, notably:

  • Gelcoat repairs;
  • Polishing and buffing;
  • Careening work;
  • Rudders repair;
  • Antifouling early 2026.

It now presents a level of finishing and presentation particularly neat for its vintage.

HISTORY

The boat was initially used for charter before being acquired by its current owners for private use.

It has approximately 1,800 engine hours, which remains relatively low given its history.

Since its private acquisition, the owners have undertaken a significant level of upgrades, focusing more on reliability and long-term preservation of the boat rather than just preparing for sale.

The main costly items have recently been addressed: sails, canvas covers and Bimini, bow thruster, engine, batteries, electrical system, windlass, chain, valves and through-hulls, electronics, careening, and antifouling.

IN SUMMARY

A well-maintained Dufour 512 Grand Large, offering volume and comfort similar to a large 50-footer while benefiting from a level of upgrades rarely seen on currently available units.

It is an excellent opportunity for a buyer seeking a ready-to-sail boat that does not require immediate major investments typical for a vessel of this size and age.
