DUFOUR 525 GL - An exceptional sailing yacht ready for long-distance cruising
Discover this beautiful Dufour 525 GL from 2006, a high-seas sailing yacht measuring 15.30 meters, perfectly maintained and equipped for extended voyages. Based in the Mediterranean, this vessel offers a remarkable balance between nautical performance and onboard comfort.
Engine and performance
Powered by a Volvo D2-75 engine with 75 HP and Sail Drive transmission, this yacht combines reliability and efficiency. With a cruising speed of 7 knots and moderate consumption of 2 liters/hour, it proves economical for long crossings.
Comfort and livability
The interior layout features 3 spacious cabins accommodating up to 7 people, with 2 electric freshwater/marine toilets for optimal comfort. The living area includes modern equipment such as Dometic air conditioning, heating, a 60L water heater, and comprehensive LED lighting. The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 refrigerators (125L + 80L), freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher (2021), and Kenwood washing machine (2021).
Autonomy and technical equipment
Autonomy is ensured by generous capacities: 800L of freshwater complemented by a 60L/h Dessalator desalination system, and 400L of fuel. The electrical system was recently upgraded with a Panda 6KWA generator (2023), 2 Victron 60Ah chargers (2025), 4 GEL service batteries 170Ah (2022), a 170Ah engine battery (2025), a Victron 700W inverter, and solar panels totaling 1200W.
Sail plan and rigging
The Elvstrom 2020 sail plan includes a genoa, full-batten mainsail, and mizzen, all protected by UV strips. The electric genoa furler Banmar, 3 electric winches, and the spi sock (2020) facilitate maneuvering. The interior and exterior upholstery was renewed in 2020, while the lazy bag dates from 2024.
Navigation and safety
The Raymarine integrated navigation station includes E80 chartplotter, GPS, autohelm 7002, radar, VHF 54E, AIS Class B, depth sounder, speed/depth instrument, and ST60 wind instrument. Offshore equipment and survival gear are up to date through 2025. The EPIRB beacon ensures safety at sea.
Deck equipment
The teak deck and cockpit exude elegance and comfort. The bathing platform with ladder, cockpit shower, barbecue, and cushions create a true outdoor living space. The bow thruster Max Power simplifies port maneuvers, complemented by an electric windlass 1500W with 25kg anchor and 80m 12mm chain.
