FAREAST 28R – one design racing sloop – pure performance and enjoyment The FAREAST 28R is a modern racing sloop that synthesizes the experience and expertise of naval architecture firm Simonis Voogd and Far East Boats.
A one design racing sailboat, high-performance, balanced, and accessible, designed to offer maximum sensations without unnecessary complexity. Despite its modest length, the FAREAST 28R impresses with its performance. Speeds close to 20 knots are regularly achieved, both in regatta and recreational sailing. Fast, lively, and extremely enjoyable to steer, it has been approved and recommended in France and internationally. High-end design and racing DNA The FAREAST 28R adopts the design cues of the best current racing sailboats: reversed bow, taut lines, wide stern platform, and optimized hull for gliding.
The open, spacious cockpit provides ample maneuvering space for the crew, enhancing both racing efficiency and comfort in sporty navigation. Advanced construction techniques The hull is made using vacuum-infused sandwich construction, with foam core and polyester resin, ensuring an excellent balance of lightness and rigidity.
With a displacement of approximately 1,200 kg and a retractable T-shaped keel (carbon fin and lead bulb), the FAREAST 28R combines stability, performance, and ease of transport and launching. The boat is perfectly suited for intensive racing programs while remaining operable by well-organized amateur crews.
