A breath of fresh air in offshore racing
Born from a fruitful collaboration with key players in the sailing industry - the architectural firm VPLP Design and Multiplast, the Sun Fast 30 One Design is a 30-foot sailboat, innovative, powerful, and versatile, aiming to make offshore racing more accessible, more fun, and more sustainable.
A monohull designed for offshore racing
The Sun Fast 30 One Design carries the ambition of opening a new chapter in offshore racing by offering a monotype dedicated to multi-day competition that is accessible to amateurs and the new generation. For a reasonable budget, they will have a 100% made in France monotype, perfectly equipped for racing and easy to maintain. This One Design class will become a reference for offshore sailing, with an extensive program of exciting international races ahead.
Goal: performance and sensations
Each of the three project partners has contributed their expertise to produce a boat with exceptional performance. The Sun Fast 30 One Design benefits from the latest advancements in infusion construction, ensuring strength and rigidity for a limited weight. The slightly rounded bow, inspired by “scow” design, promises sensations and power in all wind angles. The equipment, such as the autopilot and electronics, will be adapted for duo offshore racing, or even solo sailing.
A recyclable production sailboat
With remarkable performance, the Sun Fast 30 One Design is also an environmentally friendly boat. It is the first series sailboat made from recyclable composite materials. By integrating sustainability criteria for sails into the Class rules, and carefully selected and designed for intensive offshore use equipment, the Sun Fast 30 One Design marks a significant step towards eco-responsible sailing.
