Description
Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 385 - New Sailboat
A new sailboat, customizable according to your project
The pleasure of sailing, simply
At Jeanneau, the priority is to design sailboats offering a simple, safe, and enjoyable sailing experience that can be shared with family or friends.
At the heart of the ninth generation of Sun Odyssey, the new Sun Odyssey 385 continues this philosophy: making sailing more accessible than ever, while preserving the pleasure and sensations that have made the range’s reputation.
A hull designed by Marc Lombard
Designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design, the Sun Odyssey 385 directly benefits from the heritage of the Sun Odyssey 380, widely recognized for its excellent seafaring qualities: upwind performance, balanced behavior, and precise, reactive steering.
The sail plan has been further optimized with a mast raised by over 250 mm and a larger mainsail by more than 2 m², to enhance sailing performance.
With three keel configurations, including a retractable keel version, three rigging options, and various customizable interior layouts, the Sun Odyssey 385 can be adapted to each owner’s sailing program and lifestyle.
A new silhouette
Continuing the design introduced on the Sun Odyssey 415 and 455, the Sun Odyssey 385 adopts a concave profile hull combined with a swept-back chine, giving the sailboat a more dynamic silhouette.
The maximum beam extends to the stern, offering 8 cm more width at the helmsman’s seating area.
The result: a hull that appears lighter on the water, while the helm station gains space and comfort.
An cockpit designed for sailing and enjoying moorings
The deck plan has been designed to combine sailing efficiency, safety, and relaxation:
Wide, unobstructed sidedecks and no shrouds, facilitating movement on the deck;
Ground-level access from the cockpit, without steps;
Clear separation between maneuvering zones and relaxation areas;
Comfortable cockpit with high backrests for support and protection while sailing;
Deep cockpit for increased safety at sea;
Optional starboard helm station, offering a highly practical and functional steering position.
An interior designed for sharing
Inside, the saloon and chart table area feature rounded seats facing each other, naturally promoting conversations and conviviality onboard.
The rounded furniture corners facilitate safe movement while sailing. Interior circulation follows the boat’s axis, with handrails connecting to the fore cabin securely.
Starboard living space is versatile and can easily adapt to various daily uses.
Smart storage, abundant natural light, and carefully designed lighting round out an interior where every detail has been thought out to make life onboard as comfortable as it is practical.
