For sale: "PLUME", a beautiful Feeling 416 keelboat, priced at 92,000 euros. Visible in PANAMA, Pacific side.
Experience long-haul adventure with "Plume", this iconic sailboat from the Kirie yard (known for building sturdy, spacious, and very fast boats), legendary design by the famous Philippe Harlé, renowned for its construction quality, comfort, and marine performance. Ideal for long cruises as well as coastal trips, this sailboat combines style, performance, safety, and livability. The spirit of "Plume": It is a very bright and spacious boat, a very robust vessel developed with Eric Tabarly, recognized as the best in its category. "Plume" sails with very little wind and performs incredibly well in tough conditions. It has always been well-maintained, and I can provide a large stack of invoices to prove it. I am the third owner, for almost 4 years now. I bought "Plume" in France and have optimized it tirelessly, without budget or time limitations. It's not just because, like any sailor, I love my boat deeply, but "Plume" is truly exceptional, even more so for solo sailing. I've optimized it to make it easy in every situation, and in 4 years, I haven't seen any other boat that could compete with its versatility. In addition to being very performance-oriented (the bigger boats often find themselves in its wake :)), it is comfortable and reliable. Together, we have traveled over 20,000 nautical miles: from France to Panama, through Guyana and up to northern Canada. (You can see our adventures on my Facebook: Sebastien Magnier / https://www.facebook.com/sebmagnier/). We have experienced a few storms, but never a cyclone. "Plume" has never run aground, and the keel bolts are sound! Before me, it only had two owners: 5 years for the first, and 25 years for the second, an engineer at Airbus, who made numerous quality improvements (titanium mulete ring, relocated backstays, retractable carbon bowsprit...).
So why am I selling? Rest assured, I will have a tear in my eye watching her sail away, and I know that when I return to sailing, I will never find anything as good as her... But after 4 years of sailing solo, I am starting to feel tired, and I think it's time for me to stop. Probably to come back one day. So I am selling "Plume" at a fair price, well below my investments (no endless negotiations to expect!). If she doesn't find a buyer at this price, I would rather keep her on land somewhere. Of course, I offer all my help for the handover and transfer. Everything will be disclosed, transparently.
Works and improvements (selection): * Before departure from France (4 years ago): Replacement of silent blocks, replacement of the stem ring, all maneuver returns brought to the back, new batteries and solar system, etc... * Works in Canada (less than a year ago - 4 months nonstop): Replacement of the teak deck with non-slip paint (Interlux advice, all steps followed), changing of through-hulls, sealing of unnecessary holes, hydrolube ring, anodes, stern gland, hull and deck painting, plumbing refit, new mainsail, necessary ropes replaced, intensive engine maintenance, diesel tank cleaned dry, repositioning of the aft arch to gain space but also strength (as it is now anchored in the railings), electrical refit and electrical panel, 2 autopilots (including one new), communication network refit, new bow thruster battery. * In recent months: Wheel bearings, 3 new service batteries, all external stitches redone by a pro (bimini, shades), complete preparation for the trans-Pacific (nothing left to chance). Exceptional equipment provided: In addition to the boat and all its equipment, I will leave behind, as I think it will be too complicated to take all my toys with me...: Kitesurfing equipment, 1 foam surfboard, 2 skateboards (including 1 electric longboard), diving gear, climbing equipment, inflatable kayak, paddleboard, 3 fishing rods, offshore jackets, drone, clothing, books, nautical charts, board games, sextant, stock of food, spare parts for everything (boat, dinghy, sports equipment, kitchen, hygiene...). Note: I removed all water supply networks from the forward bathroom and the rear cabin sink and sealed the through-hulls properly with resin/laminate, as I found it a ridiculousness and a source of potential additional problems. Returning to the original setup will be easy and inexpensive for those who wish to do so. Note (in all transparency): * Like all boats of this era, it has osmosis. A preventive treatment has been put in place, and I treat it as best as I can, but when it comes out of the water, you should expect to see several small blisters the size of coins. * The survival raft is a Zodiac, not very young, which needs servicing since a year. * The varnish (table, chart table, kitchen) will need to be redone soon (everything is on board). * I have changed more than half of the plexiglass on the boat, everything is perfectly watertight, but the side deck panels are worn by time and need changing (they are on board). * I changed the mattresses in the forward cabin 2 years ago, and I find the foam has already become uncomfortable. The mattress covers are a bit "torn" in places. * I have glued fake patches on the dinghy to deter thieves, but it only had a micro leak repaired. * There is a micro oil leak at one small screw on the diesel pump (insignificant according to pros). * I changed the chain 2 years ago, but it is already starting to rust. The anchor also shows some rust. * Linings: general condition is correct, but there are some signs of peeling at the junctions.
