Description
The Boat Cirrus from 1999 — cruising boat adapted for two — 32,999 euros — moored in Castelnaudary, Canal du Midi
Four kilometers per hour. The plane trees closing overhead. A lockkeeper signaling and asking where you're headed — and you realize you don't have to decide until tomorrow.
It's a small boat that does a big thing. An old Cirrus from the Le Boat fleet — the model designed for couples — which we bought two years ago and have since transformed into a true self-sufficient cruising boat for two. Solar panels, satellite internet, diesel heating, and all those little refinements that you only notice once you've lived onboard and discovered what's missing.
It is ready today. It’s not a project, there’s nothing to finish. You get onboard and go.
Where it will take you
8.80 m × 3.60 m, 60 cm draft, and 2.20 m air draft: it conforms with European waterway standards and can pass almost anywhere in the network — France, Belgium, Holland, Germany. We navigated the Rhone with it effortlessly. From its mooring in Castelnaudary, you are two days from Carcassonne, less than a week from the Mediterranean, and a season from anywhere.
Small enough for narrow canals and tight locks. Sturdy enough for the major rivers. This combination is rarer than it seems.
