In the 1970s, after selling his company to Bertram, Riva drew inspiration from American advancements to introduce a revolutionary deep V hull to Italy. This innovative concept, originally developed by visionary naval architect Bob Hobbs, was perfected through collaboration between Riva and Cal Connell, founder of Mercruiser.
