The Italian manufacturer Sessa Marine offers a very diverse range with boats from 5.75 meters open boats to luxurious 21-meter yachts. It also has a wide range of sun decks called Key Largo, except for the One – the smallest of all – which is a classic open. In recent years, Sessa has developed some of these models in inboard and outboard versions, like the Key Largo 34 which we had the opportunity to take on a test run off the port of Varazze, Italy, near the French border. Docked at the quay, this imposing 10-meter-long sun deck reveals elegant curves.

This boat – like all other models in the range – was designed by the renowned designer Christian Grande. The Key Largo 34 features a very successful, harmonious, fluid, and contemporary profile. The program of this impressive 10-meter sun deck is undoubtedly Mediterranean. The Key Largo 34 has two distinct living spaces, the bow and the cockpit. The huge forward sunpad is dedicated to lounging and long sunny sessions. It is accessible via two wide walkways secured by a balustrade.

Very convivial spaces
The cockpit is mainly reserved for dining and picnics with family or friends, thanks to the large L-shaped bench that can accommodate many guests around the beautiful teak table. This table can fold in half to save space or lower to form a second sun pad. As on most boats, the seating includes large storage lockers. The thick leaning post houses the helmsman and co-pilot, and features an outdoor kitchen equipped as standard with a sink, a cutting board, plenty of storage, and optionally a refrigerator and stove. While the lounging areas have been carefully designed, the helm station has received special attention.

Comfort is excellent, instrumentation is well positioned, the steering wheel is adjustable, and throttle controls fall easily to hand in standing position; however, when the pilot is seated on the comfortable bucket seat, the steering wheel might be a bit far. The GPS location is ideally placed for easy readability. Although the Key Largo 34 is an excellent boat for day trips, it can also be perfectly adapted for cruising with a welcoming and warm interior comprising a U-shaped forward cabin that converts into a double berth, a very nice mid-cabin, and an independent toilet compartment. The interior decor, very elegant and refined, features noble wood and light fabrics.

A rather rich standard equipment
The long hull panels, which provide an unmissable view of the sea from the forward cabin and bring a lot of light, are also appreciated. The mid-cabin features two single berths that can be combined with a central mattress to form a double berth. The toilet compartment is equipped with a sink, a handheld shower, and electric marine toilet connected to a black water tank.
