The Italian manufacturer Sessa Marine offers a very varied range with boats from the 5.75-meter open to the luxurious 21-meter yacht. It also has a large range of sun decks called Key Largo, except for the One – the smallest of all – which is a classic open boat. For several years, Sessa has been offering some of these models in inboard and outboard versions, such as the Key Largo 34, which we had the opportunity to take command of off the port of Varazze in Italy, near the French border. Moored at the dock, this imposing 10-meter-long sun deck reveals beautiful curves.

This boat – like all other models in the range – was designed by the very famous designer Christian Grande. The Key Largo 34 displays a very successful line that is both harmonious, fluid, and contemporary. The program of this imposing 10-meter-long sun deck is undoubtedly Mediterranean. The Key Largo 34 has two well-defined living areas, the forward part and the cockpit. The huge forward sunbed is dedicated to relaxing and long sunbathing sessions. It is accessible via two wide walkways secured by a railing.

Very convivial spaces
As for the cockpit, it is mainly reserved for meals and picnics with family or friends, thanks to the large L-shaped bench that allows many guests to sit around the magnificent teak table. This table can be folded in half to take up less space or lowered to form a second sunbed. As on most boats, the seats hide large storage lockers. The thick leaning-post seats the captain and copilot and houses an outdoor kitchen equipped as standard with a sink, a cutting board, numerous storage compartments, and optionally, a refrigerator and a stove. While the relaxation areas have been carefully designed, the helm station has received special attention.

Comfort is excellent; the instrumentation benefits from prime locations, the steering wheel is adjustable, and the throttle controls fall nicely under the hands when standing; however, when the pilot is seated at the bottom of the comfortable bucket seat, the wheel will be a bit far. The space reserved for the GPS is ideally located, which facilitates readability. Although the Key Largo 34 is a fantastic boat for day trips, it can also perfectly adapt to a cruising program thanks to a welcoming and warm cabin consisting of a forward U-shaped saloon convertible into a double berth, a very nice mid-cabin, and an independent toilet room. The interior decor, very flattering and refined, is made of noble wood and light fabrics.

A rather rich standard equipment
The long hull panels, which offer a breathtaking view of the sea from the forward cabin while bringing lots of light, are also appreciated. The mid-cabin is equipped with two single berths that can be joined with a central mattress to form a double bed. As for the toilet room, it is equipped with a sink, a showerhead, and electric marine WC coupled with a black water tank.
