Built for the sea: Designing a V6 block exclusively for marine applications allows Mercury to build the 4.5L with top protection, using cast iron components where the engine contacts seawater and corrosion-resistant aluminum composites elsewhere.

Powerful performer: Thanks to its new long-distance spiral intake manifold that draws in more air and converts it into additional torque, the 4.5L offers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, delivering V8 power in a V6 package.

Flexible and quiet: The rear-mounted throttle body design of the 4.5L, along with its noise muffler, engine cover and housing, lightweight flywheel, fuel module, and structural oil pan, all contribute to smooth idle, low vibrations, and reduced noise levels for a better boating experience.

Anti-corrosion protection: MercFusion paint system creates an outer barrier against elements, while MerCathode® provides automatic galvanic corrosion protection. To maximize protection against saltwater effects, the engine can be equipped with SeaCore® industrial hard anodizing system and a closed cooling circuit.

Sporty handling: The 4.5L is also equipped with Adaptive Speed Control (ASC), which automatically maintains the engine rpm regardless of load or water conditions. Result: improved acceleration and a more sporty feel.

Easy maintenance: When service is needed, maintenance is simplified by the front-mounted oil level indicator, color-coded service points, easily accessible oil filter and fill, and online info videos accessible via the QR code on the label.
