The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF115B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this over 2-liter outboard engine to increase top speed and provide better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF115A model. Tests have proven a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF115B over mid to high speed ranges.
The new cowling features a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing intake air temperature, which allows for higher power output at intermediate RPMs. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, enabling better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "big brother" DF140B is that it produces its power over a broader and lower RPM range.
