The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF140B, features enhancements that further improve its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this 2-liter plus outboard engine to further increase top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF140A over a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowl features a special air intake optimized for water separation while lowering the intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at mid-range speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, allowing for a better spark ignition and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "little brother" DF115B is that it achieves its power at a higher RPM range.
