Suzuki's new outboard engine, the DF140B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this over 2-liter outboard engine to increase maximum speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Energy efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model from the brand. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption for the DF140A over a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowling adopts a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing the intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at mid-range speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, allowing for better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "smaller brother" DF115B is that it achieves its power output over a higher rpm range.
