The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF140B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is increased to 10.6/1, which allows this over 2-liter outboard engine to further improve top speed and acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
The fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have demonstrated a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption on medium to high-speed ranges.
The new cowl features a special air intake designed to optimize water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at intermediate speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, resulting in better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference from its "little brother" DF115B is that it delivers power over a higher speed range.
