The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF140B, features improvements that enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio has been increased to 10.6/1, allowing this 2-liter plus outboard motor to further improve top speed and acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
The fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have demonstrated a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF140A across mid to high speed ranges.
The new cowl features a special air intake optimized for water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at mid-range speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, which improves spark generation and combustion efficiency.
The main difference from its "little brother" DF115B is that it achieves its power output over a higher RPM range.
