Suzuki's new outboard engine, the DF140B, features improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6:1, allowing this over 2-liter outboard engine to improve top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF140B over a medium to high speed range.
The new cowling adopts a special air intake optimizing water separation while reducing intake air temperature, allowing higher power output at mid-range speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring which better generates the ignition spark and improves combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "younger brother" DF115B is that it delivers its power over a higher RPM range.
