Targeting customers looking for a sporty design, the first asset of this engine is its matte black “ghost” color, widespread in the racing world but still rare among marine engine manufacturers. Named “Kuro,” meaning deep black in Japanese, the kanji of the DF250 also expresses elegance and refinement in Japanese literature.

With a racing look, the new Suzuki DF250 is a 24-valve V6 with electronic injection and 4023 cc displacement, based on technologies that have earned Suzuki’s reputation. It delivers enhanced performance thanks to developments made on the electronic control unit. Its performance range has been extended from 5700 to 6300 rpm.

Additionally, the front shape of the gearcase has been refined, inspired by marine racing gearcases to improve water penetration. The placement and lines of the water intakes have been studied to improve navigation performance by avoiding cavitation. The lateral asymmetry at the keel provides better steering stability.

Finally, the air intake grille under the hood has been redesigned to increase airflow and speed up engine cooling.

This new engine also benefits from Suzuki’s technological strengths, such as offset with its two-stage reduction system to optimize propeller efficiency. This exclusive Suzuki technology, with the powerhead shifted forward, gives the engine a compact character and significantly improves the boat-engine center of gravity. The Suzuki Precision Control (SPC) electronic command controls the engine remotely via an electric signal (not via traditional mechanical control cables), allowing for smoother acceleration and deceleration.
