Mechanically, it is the same engine as the DF60A but equipped with a multifunction tiller handle instead of remote controls. This feature allows for an unobstructed deck layout for sailors needing maximum space on board.

The Suzuki DF60ATHL engine features 3 cylinders, 12 valves controlled by a overhead camshaft, and electronic fuel injection. It is also equipped with Suzuki's Lean Burn Control system known for its high performance and economical fuel consumption.

The chain-driven oil-lubricated and self-adjusting timing system requires no specific maintenance or servicing.

This engine is also equipped with Suzuki Easy Start system with impulsed starting, a high-capacity charge alternator, and a tilt limiter.
