The Suzuki DF60ATHL engine features 3 cylinders, 12 valves driven by an overhead camshaft, and electronic fuel injection. It is also equipped with the Suzuki Lean Burn Control system known for its high performance and fuel efficiency.

The chain-driven timing, lubricated in an oil bath and self-adjusting, requires no specific maintenance or servicing.

This engine is also equipped with the Suzuki Easy Start system with a pulse start control, a high-capacity alternator, and a tilt limiter.
