Suzuki's new outboard motor, the DF115B, benefits from improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is increased to 10.6/1, allowing this over 2-liter outboard motor to improve maximum speed and acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.

Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF115A model. Testing has shown a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF115B across mid to high speed ranges.

The new cowling features a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at mid-range RPMs. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.

The new direct ignition system reduces parts and wiring, resulting in a better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.

The main difference from its "big brother" DF140B is that it delivers its power over a lower and wider RPM range.
