The new Suzuki outboard engine, the DF140B, features enhancements that further improve its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6/1, allowing this over 2-liter outboard engine to increase top speed and accelerate better while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption for the DF140A across medium to high speeds.
The new cowling adopts a special air intake optimized for water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at intermediate speeds. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, resulting in a better ignition spark and improved combustion efficiency.
The main difference from its "little brother" DF115B is that it delivers power over a higher RPM range.
