Suzuki's new outboard motor, the DF140B, benefits from improvements that further enhance its overall performance. The compression ratio is now 10.6:1, allowing this outboard motor of more than 2 liters to further increase top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.
Energy efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model from the brand. Tests have shown a 5 to 6% improvement in fuel consumption for the DF140A over a range of medium to high speeds.
The new cowling features a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at mid-range RPM. A resonator system further reduces engine noise at all speeds.
The new direct ignition reduces the number of parts and wiring, which improves spark generation and combustion efficiency.
The main difference with its "smaller brother" DF115B is that it achieves its power over a higher RPM range.
