Targeting customers looking for a sporty design, the primary advantage of this engine is its “ghost” matte black color, widespread in the racing world but still rare among marine engine manufacturers. Named “Kuro,” meaning deep black in Japanese, the kanji for DF250 also expresses elegance and refinement in Japanese literature.

With a racing look, the new Suzuki DF250 is a 24-valve V6 with electronic injection and 4023 cc displacement, based on technologies that have built Suzuki’s reputation. It offers enhanced performance thanks to development on the electronic control unit. Its performance range broadens from 5700 to 6300 rpm.

Furthermore, the front shape of the exhaust housing has been designed inspired by powerboat racing housings to improve water penetration. The placement and lines of the water intakes have been studied to enhance navigation performance by avoiding cavitation. The lateral asymmetry at the keel provides better steering stability.

Finally, the air intake grille under the hood has been redesigned to increase airflow and accelerate engine cooling.

Additionally, this new engine benefits from Suzuki’s technological strengths, such as offset with its two-stage reduction system to optimize propeller efficiency. This exclusive Suzuki technology, with the drive head offset to the front, gives the engine a compact character and notably improves the overall boat-engine center of gravity. The Suzuki Precision Control (SPC) electronic control remotely operates the engine via an electric signal (rather than traditional mechanical control cables), allowing smoother acceleration and deceleration.
