The new Suzuki outboard motor, the DF140B, features upgrades that further improve its overall performance. The compression ratio has been increased to 10.6/1, allowing this 2-liter outboard to further enhance top speed and achieve better acceleration while optimizing thermal efficiency.

Fuel efficiency has also been improved compared to the well-known DF140A model. Tests have demonstrated a 5 to 6% reduction in fuel consumption at mid to high speeds for the DF140A.

The new cowling features a special air intake that optimizes water separation while reducing the intake air temperature, enabling higher power output at intermediate speeds. A resonator system further decreases engine noise at all speeds.

The new direct ignition system reduces the number of parts and wiring, allowing for better spark generation and improved combustion efficiency.

The main difference with its "little brother" DF115B is that it delivers power over a higher RPM range.
