BOAT LICENSE

 If you plan to buy or rent a boat with an engine over 6 HP, you must have a license.

With the coastal license you benefit from a beautiful navigation program around Corsica and you will discover a human-sized island. A cruise with a full tour in less than two weeks. A unique and strong culture making each stop a journey at the heart of the trip. A selection of nautical spots among the most beautiful in the world.
The coastal license also allows you to reach Sardinia via the South of Corsica.

The boat license comes in three forms:

INLAND LICENSE: for navigation in inland waters (rivers, lakes, and canals)

Average cost with fiscal stamps: €350

COASTAL LICENSE: navigation at sea, day and night, up to 6 nautical miles (a little over 11.5 kilometers approximately) with no engine power limitation for the boat, a jet ski, or a sea scooter. Beyond this limit, the offshore option is mandatory.

It is divided into two parts:
- a theoretical part validated by an exam
- a practical part validated by your instructor.

Average cost with fiscal stamps: €350

Below you will find illustrations of the elements to learn and remember for the theoretical coastal license test:

OFFSHORE LICENSE: Logical extension of the Coastal License code, the offshore extension allows navigation without distance or power limitation on the entire maritime domain for a powered pleasure boat. It remains optional for sailboats.

The program is theoretical only: Includes chart navigation and tide calculations and MCQs.
Average cost with fiscal stamps and materials (Chart-Compass-Cras Rule): €600;
