In 1952, during a sea urchin tasting at the Cap Rousset cove, the fishermen offered the then mayor, Jean-Baptiste Grimaldi, his weight... in sea urchins. The event was folkloric and the sea urchin earned its nobility title.

In the space of half a century, "The Month of the Sea Urchin" has thus become the major festival of Carry-le-Rouet, whose success continues to grow and cross borders every year.
 

Every Sunday in February, the 3rd - 10th - 17th and 24th, come discover the oursinades at the port of Carry-le-Rouet.
