Gallian 13 Ketch, Carène Studies Shipyard, Herbulot.
This boat underwent a complete refit in 2020 for a round-the-world trip that unfortunately could not be completed by the current owner.
The two engines were replaced with 2 new VOLVO PENTA D2 50 HP. The shipyard did enormous work replacing all the propulsion systems, shaft lines, steering gear, tanks, rudder bearings, joints, hydraulics, and much more.
Electricity and electronics were completely renewed.

1977 Gallian 13 ketch designed by architect Jean-Jacques Herbulot.
A swim platform was added, bringing the boat’s length to 14.90 meters.
The hull is epoxy plywood, as is the swim platform, which is fully integrated into the hull as it is attached to the frames and stringers.
It is equipped for ocean cruising with four 50-watt solar panels and a 400-watt Air Breeze wind generator: together they supply 600 ampere-hours of domestic batteries. The boat is electrically self-sufficient. All lighting uses LED bulbs.
1 side cabin with a large berth for two people, a wardrobe. It is located in the center of the boat.
1 forward double cabin.
2 stacked berths in the starboard corridor, the upper berth can convert into a double berth.
1 head compartment (sink, shower, and toilet with black water tank) accessible from the forward and owner’s cabins.
1 offset saloon to port comfortably seating 8 guests.
1 long galley equipped with a 2-burner stove with oven, two large refrigerators, a sink with drainer, and work surfaces.
1 spacious wheelhouse protected by a rigid hardtop extended by a canvas cover on a stainless steel tube frame.
A large table with bench seating that has extensive storage beneath. Together this forms a true living space, both at sea and at anchor, with easy circulation and almost level access (2 steps between the wheelhouse and interior).
1 large aft swim platform and swim ladder for easy swimming and boarding at anchor.
It is equipped with davits: ketch rigged with a mizzen sail on furling, a mainsail with three reefs and a rigid boom vang, a furling genoa, and a removable forestay. The sail inventory includes a furling jib, staysail, storm jib, all rigging on furlers; 2 symmetrical spinnakers (one light and one heavy) and an asymmetrical spinnaker with sock.
