XBOAT ref :1661. Gallian ketch 13, hull study yard of Herbulot.
This boat underwent a complete refit in 2020 for a round-the-world trip which unfortunately could not be carried out by the current owner.
The two engines were replaced by 2 NEW VOLVO PENTA D2 50 HP, with the yard doing extensive work replacing all the propulsion lines, shafts, steering gear, tanks, rudder bushings, joints, hydraulics, and much more.
Electricity and electronics were also completely renewed.
Full invoice file available. Over €90,000 spent. Expert report available upon request.
Gallian ketch 13 from 1977 designed by architect Jean-Jacques Herbulot.
A skirt has been added, increasing the boat's length to 14.90 meters.
The hull is made of epoxy plywood, as is the skirt, which is an integral part of the hull, reinforced on the frames and stringers.
Equipped for ocean voyage, it has 4 solar panels of 50 watts each and a 400-watt Air breeze wind turbine. The entire system supplies the 600 ampere service batteries. The boat is electrically autonomous. All lighting uses LED bulbs:
- 1 side cabin with a large double berth, wardrobe, located at the center of the boat.
- 1 bow double cabin.
- 2 bunk beds on the starboard passageway, with the upper bed convertible into a double berth.
- 1 bathroom (sink, shower, and toilet with black water tank) accessible from the main cabin and owner’s cabin.
- 1 offset salon on port side comfortably accommodating 8 guests.
- 1 long equipped galley with a 2-burner stove with oven, two large refrigerators, a sink with drainer, and countertop.
- 1 large protected wheelhouse with a rigid sprayhood extended by a canvas on stainless steel frame.
A large table with benches on each side, under which are spacious lockers. The entire area forms a real living space, both at sea and at anchor, with easy circulation and practically on the same level (2 steps between the wheelhouse and the interior).
- 1 large aft skirt and bathing ladder facilitating swimming and boarding at anchor.
The boat is equipped with chocks: ketch with a furling mizzen sail, mainsail with three reefs and rigid reefing line, roller furling genoa, detachably staysail. The wardrobe includes a reefed jib, a staysail, a storm jib; these sails are rigged on, 2 symmetric spinnakers (light and heavy), and an asymmetric spinnaker with its sock.
- 30 kg Delta anchor with 60 meters of chain + plow anchor. More information and photos available on xboat.fr
