XBOAT ref:1661. Gallian 13 ketch, hull study yard of Carènes, Herbulot. This boat underwent a complete refit in 2020 for a world tour which, unfortunately, the current owner was unable to undertake. The two engines were replaced by two brand new VOLVO PENTA D2 50 HP units. The yard did extensive work replacing all the drive lines, shafts, helm, tanks, rudder bushes, joints, hydraulics, and much more. The electrical and electronic systems were also completely renewed. Full invoice file available. Over €90,000 spent. Inspection report available upon request. Gallian ketch 13 from 1977, designed by architect Jean-Jacques Herbulot. A skeg was added, increasing the boat’s length to 14.90 meters. The hull is made of epoxy plywood, as is the skeg, which forms an integral part of the hull, reinforced on the frame members and longitudinals. It is equipped for ocean voyaging with four 50-watt solar panels and a 400-watt Air brese wind turbine. The entire system powers 600-amp service batteries. The boat is self-sufficient in electricity. All lighting is LED. - 1 side cabin with a large double berth, wardrobe, located at the center of the boat. - 1 forward double cabin. - 2 stacked berths on starboard side corridor, the upper berth can be transformed into a double. - Bathroom (sink, shower, and toilet with black water tank) accessible from the forward cabin and owner’s cabin. - Salon offset to port, comfortably accommodating 8 guests. - Long galley equipped with a 2-burner stove with oven, two large refrigerators, sink with drainer, and worktop. - Spacious helm protected by a rigid awning extended by a tarpaulin on a stainless steel frame. A large table with benches and storage lockers underneath. The whole creates a true living space, easy movement at sea and at anchor, almost on a single level (two steps between the helm and the interior). - Large aft skeg and bathing ladder facilitate swimming and boarding at anchor. It is equipped with goose necks: ketch with a furling mizzen sail, a main sail with three reefs and a rigid reefing system, a roller jib, and a deployable staysail. The wardrobe includes a reefed jib, a stay sail, a storm sail, and these sails are rigged on two symmetrical spinnakers (a light and a heavy) and an asymmetrical spinnaker with its sock. - 30 kg Delta anchor with 60 meters of chain plus a plow anchor.
