From this comes the 40 – ST Square Top, which offers the following advantages:
- Gaff-headed mainsail, more efficient with increased power at the top of the sail
- The mainsail is more manageable with a shorter boom and a leech length comparable to that of the jib
- Better aerodynamic performance with less drag and improved overall balance of the boat
- Better space optimization in the cockpit, making it more suitable for installing a bimini.
