Description
DRAGONFLY 28 SPORT
Exceptional helm pleasure, active safety, and absolute versatility
Offered in a remarkable state of preservation and maintenance, this Dragonfly 28 Sport (2013) represents the undisputed reference in high-performance cruising trimarans. Combining Scandinavian construction standards (Quorning Boats shipyard) with top-tier sailing performance, this yacht appeals to sailors seeking a perfect compromise between speed, active safety, and exploration capacity.
PERFORMANCE & SENSATIONS: THE PURE SAILING PLEASURE
Optimized sail plan (Sports Rig): Equipped with the extended mast specific to the Sport version and a generous sail plan (fully battened mainsail and furler jib). The unit delivers immediate accelerations in light winds and smooth passage through the swell.
Helm feel & Balance: The finesse of the tiller provides direct, neutral, and responsive steering sensations. Under way, the stabilized heel angle (less than 8°–10°) guarantees a flat-running dynamic, reducing crew fatigue and maximizing comfort at sea.
Exceptional maritime behavior: Thanks to high-volume floats and highly rigid structural connecting arms, the boat maintains an ideal longitudinal and transverse trim, ensuring high cruising speeds (12–18 knots) with confidence.
ARCHITECTURE & ACTIVE SAFETY
Formal stability & risk reduction: Unlike a monohull, the shape stability provided by the extrados floats offers a high righting moment. Active safety is maximized: no excessive heel, clear deck, and safe movement on the trampolines.
Modern appendages & variable draft:
Pivoting keel (central hull): In case of high-speed impact with a drifting obstacle or the seabed, the keel automatically retracts, preserving the structural integrity of the keel trunk and the laminate.
Extreme draft (0.40 m / 2.54 m): Allows navigation in shallow areas, crossing thresholds, or safely grounding flat.
Patented Swing Wing system (hydraulic/mechanical folding): Allows reducing the beam from 6.50 m to 2.54 m in seconds from the cockpit, without tools. This system enables access to port places for monohulls and facilitates road transport on a trailer.
