Dufour 44 from 2006:
Equipped with a Volvo Penta D2 55 HP engine with only 750 hours,
This is a cruising racing sailboat that can be single-handed, it is a very good performer upwind and downwind (apart from X Yacht and J boats, not many boats are faster), it is highly maneuverable with a very fine helm response.
The keel is made of lead, unlike traditional cruising sailboats, and the mast passing through the keel, which makes it very stiff under sail and very responsive.
It is a very seaworthy boat, very safe in heavy weather,
It is equipped with necessary reinforcements and attachments for a retractable staysail.
The rig was replaced in June 2021, two years ago:
- Genoa furler replaced with a new one: FACNOR LS200, identical to the original.
- The forestay and two shrouds replaced
- The Lazy Bag and the "Cristal" of the bimini are new as of 2023!
- The Bimini and the Bimini have been replaced in October 2017
- The Halyard has been replaced in May 2016
- The Sail Drive seal has not been replaced; it was checked by a boatyard, which concluded it does not need to be replaced
- Engine maintenance was performed by a professional mechanic (oil change / oil filter / impeller replacement)
- The boat is equipped with a folding three-blade J PROP propeller.
- The jib is not very old, replaced about four years ago, it is a DELTA VOILES jib; the mainsail is a very robust two reef sail from ETTORE YACHTING, it should be upgraded to a roller, but it is in good condition and very efficient.
- Only one owner since new, purchased and delivered on May 17, 2007.
