Dufour 44 from 2006:
With a Volvo Penta D2 55 HP engine with only 750 hours,
This is a "Racing Cruising" type sailboat that can be handled solo; it is a very good performer both upwind and downwind (apart from X Yachts and J-boats, there are not many that sail faster), it is extremely maneuverable with very fine helm feel.
The keel is made of lead, unlike classic cruising sailboats, and the keel-stepped mast makes it very stiff under sail and very responsive.
It is a very seaworthy boat, very safe in rough weather,
It is equipped with necessary reinforcements and attachments for a removable forestay.
The rigging was renewed in June 2021, 2 years ago:
- Genoa furler replaced by a new one: FACNOR LS200, identical to the original.
- Forestay and 2 shrouds replaced
- LAZY BAG and the 2023 new sprayhood "Cristal"!
- Sprayhood and BIMINI replaced in October 2017
- Boom vang replaced in May 2016
- Sail Drive seal has not been replaced, it was inspected by the shipyard and deemed not necessary to change
- Engine maintenance performed by a professional mechanic (oil changes/oil filter/impeller replacement),
- The boat is equipped with a folding 3-blade J PROP propeller.
- The Genoa is fairly recent, replaced about 4 years ago; it is a Genoa from DELTA SAILS. The mainsail is a very sturdy 2-reef sail from ETTORE YACHTING; it would benefit from a machine wash but is in good condition and very efficient.
- Only one owner of the boat, purchased new and delivered on May 17, 2007.
