XBOAT ref :4175. Owner's words:
I am selling my Swan 36, in excellent condition, 11m, built in 1969.
This superb One Tonner of 11m, rated JCH with a rating of 8.6236, is ready to participate in all classic sailboat regattas, particularly the French Yacht Club Atlantic Cup.
This Stephens design, successor to Cybele, prototype of the series and RORC champion 1968, is the first of the long series of Swans built by Nautor in Finland, renowned for the quality of its productions.
I have its complete history and many documents from its first owner, Barry Davies, who, a friend of the British sailcloth importer Hood, competed with him in the Irish Sea, ISORA, and RORC regattas in the early 70s.
The boat was fully refurbished by the previous owner in 2015, with various local yards and specialists (hull passes, rigging, fittings, sails, electronics, radar, AIS, solar panel, heating, etc...)
I purchased this boat in 2023 and continued to upgrade it:
- Sparcraft standing rigging, fridge, and WC in 2023.
- Varnishing of coamings in 2024.
- Anti-osmosis treatment, replacement of some hull passes in 2025.
- Survival life raft from 2012 revised in 2025.
The boat is afloat and monitored by professionals during the winter storage.
2023 appraisal available upon request.
>Interior Equipment:
The interior layout is superb and well-maintained. The varnishes are perfect. At the bow, there is a double cabin. The salon has two settees/berths, a large chart table, and a navigator’s berth.
The galley has a two-burner Parker stove, a 2023 fridge, and an Eberspacher heater. The water tank capacity is 200 liters, and the WC is new. The upholstery is like new.
>Electronics:
The boat is equipped with a Simrad navigation control, a log, a speedometer, a depth sounder, a windvane, and a anemometer, all in working condition. There are interior and exterior repeaters, a Garmin radar, a Raymarine ST4000 autopilot, an AIS transmitter/receiver, a VHF, and a CD radio.
>Rigging and Fittings:
The fittings are from Selden. The winches are Hutton for self-tailing, and Barlow or Lewmar for others. The boat has a ventilation box for the ventilation. The Sparcraft mast dates from 2002, and the standing rigging was renewed in 2023. It has a Selden Furlex headsail furler, a fitted forestay with heron pole, and a rigid halyard rigging from Selden. Topping lift storage is along the mast.
>Safety:
The life raft from 2012 was revised in 2025.
The boat is equipped with the required safety equipment, extinguishers, an electric pump, a manual pump, a 1000W electric windlass, and a distress beacon.
