Dufour 44 from 2006:
With only 750 hours on a Volvo Penta D2 55 HP engine,
This is a cruising racing type sailboat that can be operated solo, it is a very good performer both upwind and downwind (Apart from X Yacht and J boats, there aren't many faster), it is highly maneuverable, with a very fine helm response.
The keel is made of lead, unlike traditional cruising sailboats, and the mast passes through the keel, making it very stiff under sail and highly responsive.
It is a very seaworthy boat, very safe in heavy weather.
It is equipped with necessary reinforcements and attachments for a furling forestay.
The rigging was renewed in June 2021, two years ago:
- Furler replaced by a new one: FACNOR LS200, identical to the original.
- The forestay and two shrouds replaced.
- The lazy bag and the "crystal" of the dodger replaced in 2023, new!
- The dodger and bimini replaced in October 2017.
- The bow hatch replaced in May 2016.
- The sail drive seal has not been replaced; it was inspected by the shipyard, which concluded it did not need changing.
- Engine maintenance was performed by a professional mechanic (oil change / oil filter / impeller replacement).
- The boat is equipped with a folding 3-blade J PROP propeller.
- The genoa is not very old, replaced about 4 years ago; it is a Delta Voiles # genoa, the mainsail is a very durable two-riser sail from Ettore Yachting, it could be upgraded to a roller, but it's in good condition and very efficient.
- Owned by a single owner, bought new and delivered on May 17, 2007.
