To meet the intervention and firefighting needs for marinas and ports, we developed the WT 610 P in 2022.
Presented at specialized trade shows and tested by several SDIS and private services, the unit we offer now has 1 year and approximately 10 hours of engine use. It is now time for it to enter active service. It should be noted that the discounted price of this offer takes into account its condition as a demonstration boat and its model year and can in no way be applied to the sale of a new boat.
By choosing the WT610 model from our MSBOAT shipyard, we sought to develop a boat as compact as possible while maintaining the capacities of the fire pumps currently used in these types of missions; namely 800 liters/min at 8 bars minimum.
To date, only Tohatsu offers a compact model delivering a flow of 1500L/min at 10 bars or 1800L/min at 8 bars, notably with a bronze pump body allowing use with salt water. It should be noted that the pump needs to be rinsed after use, and for this, we supply a kit to connect to a fire hydrant. This pump is removable and portable with retractable handles and weighs only 127kg. With its own fuel tank, it has a one-hour operating autonomy at full throttle. Fixed in front of the cabin, it draws seawater through an internal T-shaped water intake, suctioning from both port and starboard sides of the hull, thus limiting possible blockage on a single intake. It feeds 2 outlets with an 80mm diameter. Naturally wishing to also be able to handle hydrocarbon fires, we positioned a 400-liter foam concentrate tank in front of the cabin and an adjustable Venturi effect mixer from 1 to 5% installed under the deck to inject the foam concentrate into the water.
We recommend the Biofor N** foam concentrate, which is environmentally safe and fully biodegradable. A motorized stainless steel monitor nozzle is positioned on the front port gunwale and is controlled from the cabin via a joystick as well as a wireless remote with a range of 50 meters. This nozzle is fed with foam concentrate. A second manual monitor nozzle is positioned on the front starboard gunwale. It is fed directly with water from the pump.
With an initial load capacity of 1200kg, the MSBOAT 610 can maintain an available payload capacity of 880 kg despite the weight of all these components. Moreover, with a width of 2.4 meters and an overall length of 6.5 meters, it remains very maneuverable within a port.
A wheelhouse is located at the rear of the deck, providing good crew protection, and it features a sit-stand bench, safely accommodating the pilot and the operator in charge of the pump and monitor nozzle controls. It is equipped with an engine control console, the necessary gauges and meters, a watertight compartment alarm in the bilge, a fuel vapor alarm in the bilge, an emergency fuel supply shutoff pull-cord for the engine, controls for the powerful searchlight, controls for the motorized monitor nozzle, a combined fishfinder/GPS, a combined sirens, gyro, and public address system complete the onboard electronic equipment.
Several floodlights provide good illumination of the deck and the surrounding area of the boat. The front door with electric control allows easy launching and retrieval of a floating stretcher. Side doors with a 1.2-meter opening are equipped with rigid ladders that automatically deploy into the water when the doors are opened, allowing people in the water to climb aboard without assistance. Note that the manual lance can be pointed upwards to protect the boat under a water dome. This boat is entirely made of marine-grade 5083 aluminum.
This boat is available immediately after the closing of the National Firefighters Congress, namely on October 9, and if necessary, it can then be registered in Division 222, as a surveillance, assistance, and rescue boat, in category 5 (certification cost extra). Note that to operate a D222 boat in this category, it is no longer necessary to hold the Captain200 license, but the new BACPN license is sufficient (Certificate of Aptitude to Operate Small Vessels), the latter being easily obtainable in a few days of training for someone who already holds their coastal license.
