Why the First 36?
Performance, plain and simple!
The First 36 moves fast and effortlessly. By brilliantly playing with pleasure and sensations, it will undoubtedly encourage its owners to sail more, and longer.
The design team
The designers of the First 36 (architect, structural engineers, designers) are not only experts in their fields but also passionate sailors. They have combined their skills to create a new generation sailboat.
The interior
The modern hull design allows for a large interior volume, the size and comfort of the legendary First 40.7.
Advanced industrialized technology
The entire boat is vacuum-infused with a foam sandwich structure, including bulkheads and most of the fittings. A technology previously reserved for racing boats or small series. The result is a very stiff boat, weighing only 4,800 kg.
A MODULAR COCKPIT
The cockpit has two distinct modes: one for racing and sailing with a reduced crew, and the other for cruising.
In race mode, the T-shaped cockpit allows the entire crew to efficiently trim and handle the boat.
In cruise mode, the seats are extended thanks to removable lockers that accommodate passengers around a cockpit table, ensuring a lounge atmosphere!
A new experience
No need to be a champion to experience double-digit speeds... The balance between the sail plan, the hull, and the steering system is such that the First 36 can go very fast without worrying its crew or putting them in danger. It steers lightly, both upwind and on a reach at planning speed.
For 45 years, a First has had to excel in crewed or short-handed races, or during family cruises. Special attention has been given to cockpit ergonomics, including a higher tiller to allow the helmsman access to the mainsail winch.
