DUFOUR 525 GL - An exceptional sailing yacht ready for long-range cruising
Discover this beautiful Dufour 525 GL from 2006, a long-distance cruising sailboat measuring 15.30 meters, meticulously maintained and equipped for extended voyages. Based in the Mediterranean, this vessel offers a remarkable balance between nautical performance and onboard comfort.
Engine and performance
Powered by a Volvo D2-75 engine with 75 HP and Sail Drive transmission, this sailboat combines reliability and efficiency. With a cruising speed of 7 knots and a moderate fuel consumption of 2 liters/hour, it proves economical for long crossings.
Comfort and livability
The interior layout features 3 spacious cabins accommodating up to 7 people, with 2 electric freshwater/mariner WC for optimal comfort. The living space is equipped with modern amenities, including Dometic air conditioning, heating, a 60L water heater, and full LED lighting. The fully equipped galley includes 2 refrigerators (125L + 80L), freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher (2021), and Kenwood washing machine (2021).
Autonomy and technical equipment
Autonomy is ensured by generous capacities: 800L of freshwater supplemented by a 60L/h Dessalator desalinator, and 400L of fuel. The electrical system was recently upgraded with a Panda 6KWA generator (2023), 2 Victron 60Ah chargers (2025), 4 GEL 170Ah service batteries (2022), a 170Ah engine battery (2025), a Victron 700W inverter, and 1200W of solar panels.
Sail plan and rigging
The 2020 Elvstrom sail plan includes a genoa, full-batten main sail, and staysail, all protected by UV strips. The electric genoa furler, 3 electric winches, and spinnaker sock (2020) facilitate maneuvers. The interior and exterior upholstery was redone in 2020, while the lazy bag dates from 2024.
Navigation and safety
The Raymarine integrated navigation suite includes E80 chartplotter, GPS, autopilot 7002, radar, VHF 54E, Class B AIS, depth sounder, speed/log, and ST 60 wind instrument. The offshore equipment and survival gear have been updated for 2025. The EPIRB distress beacon ensures safety at sea.
Deck equipment
The teak deck and cockpit exude elegance and comfort. The bathing platform with ladder, cockpit shower, barbecue, and cushions create a true outdoor living space. The Max Power bow thruster simplifies port maneuvers, complemented by an electric windlass 1500W with 25kg anchor and 80m of 12mm chain.
