Vent du Sud 34 at Cap d'Agde offers you this Louisiane Fountaine Pajot Catamaran.
One of the first in the series built in 1985, thus with retractable daggerboards and rudders on a femelot, and a 25hp outboard on a bracket.
Then switched to keels (0.90 m draft) with rudders still on the transom but non-retractable. Less performance (all relative) more comfort.
Switch to central inboard Yanmar 3GM30 engine with direct cooling and sillette leg. It's a kind of stern drive that can be lifted at the port or anchorage and stays out of the water. Engine fully overhauled (invoices) in August 2022, new hour meter, 18 hours of use. Advantages: torque, fuel consumption, possible to motor-sail in any weather; disadvantage: the leg remains in the water when sailing. The sillette leg is coupled to the rudders by cables.
Then rig change: mast on Z-Spars furling system in 2007, halyards and cables replaced, and furling system checked in 2022. Sail changed in 2022, light Bavaria sail for light winds revised by Vega Sails in August 2022. A storm jib (Swedish sail) can be fitted on the mast track for really bad weather (not included).
Headsail Solent self-tacking on Profurl furling system.
Two CQR 16kg anchors with 10mm chain, Lewmar electric windlass.
New Thetford chemical toilet. The old marine toilets which are functional have been removed but remain available. Valves have been left in place for possible restoration with marine toilets or other uses (for example, engine cooling water input).
Winches are Barbarosa 48 refurbished, with parts, cleaning etc. They replace the Lewmar 40 winches converted to ST, which are also available but need servicing.
No electronics, just a Garmin plotter, which I only use to verify the tablet's consistency (not provided). I belong to the 'old school' so paper charts, pencils, Cras ruler, sextant, etc. Navigation with a tablet and Navionics is straightforward when you started just with a compass.
No fixed VHF, just two handhelds. The antenna is installed, a second is in reserve but not connected.
The liferaft in its container is 2021 Hauturier 24H with the grab bag from the same period, providing 48H offshore safety after semi-offshore inspections. Moreover, you can equip the grab bag as you wish.
The galley has 4 burners, the gas is outside, the hulls communicate with the central nacelle through a hatch with its cover. You can move from one hull to the other without going outside or keep everyone's privacy. The catamaran is sold with its new tender and new electric motor.
