RARE! This habitable barge built in 1928 by the Chantier des Deux Saintes, measuring 39 meters in length and 5 meters in width, is located between Reims and Soissons in Aisne (02).
The barge features the mariner's accommodation in the center, in its original oak state. Only 2 or 3 boats of this model remain. It has 2 separate holds.
Entry is through the front hold, converted into a livable apartment: a 50 m² living area with a kitchen equipped with appliances (electric stove, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher), and a living room area. A wood stove (France Turbo) installed in 2011 heats the entire space.
An electric and economical heating system (2004), which can also serve as an air conditioner, is installed. Brightness is provided by polished brass round portholes and a skylight (to be replaced? leak during storms).
The bow is separated from the kitchen by a watertight door and converted into a pantry and wood storage.
A 10m² cabin with a porthole (same model), heated either by the wood stove radiance or the same reversible air conditioning system (see main room).

The barge also features a forecastle with the pilot station and the original sailor's apartment (renovations needed, including insulation), with direct access from the hold to be developed.
A very accessible 40m² wooden terrace is installed on the converted apartment.

The hull was doubled in 2004, with tlesh repair on port and starboard sides in 2014.
To be done: external repainting, replacement of the living room's glazed-wood partition, the current bathroom shower to be replaced, insulation of the central cabin, completion of the second hold's development, creation of another water room, installation of a black water treatment system, renovation of the sailor's cabin and forecastle.
