We are pleased to present "Fly" for sale, an Essex smack, one of the oldest and rarest sailing vessels still in activity. Built between 1805 and 1842, this wooden cutter, unmotorized and rigged with a gaff sail, was originally designed for wild oyster fishing in the Thames Estuary. Over the centuries, it has also served coastal fishing, sea rescue, and even smuggling, making "Fly" a boat with a past as rich as it is varied.

• Construction: Larch and oak hull, gaff rig, tanned linen mainsail, rigging overhauled in 2022.

Fly has undergone a meticulous restoration respecting its authenticity while adapting to modern requirements. The boat is in perfect condition, with a solid and sound hull. The linen mainsail, partially handmade, reflects attention to detail. The interior layout, rustic yet comfortable, offers functional space with a large double berth, a traditional wood stove, and ample storage.
